A GP surgery has been slammed for telling patients with depression, anxiety and eating disorders to go elsewhere.
Practice bosses have now been ordered to withdraw the advice after they were accused of putting lives at risk.
Mental health staff criticised the email sent to patients of Kingskerswell and Ipplepen, in Newton Abbot, Devon.
Mark Winstanley of Rethink Mental Illness, said it was “unacceptable”.
He warned people with mental health problems could reach “crisis point” if they were turned away from their GP.
Last night NHS chiefs said they were “urgently working” with the practice.
